Taylor Swift: Taylor Swift is gearing up for new music. The singer confirmed the release in an Instagram post shared Tuesday.
Her upcoming single, "Patient Zero," drops September 25. Swift told fans she'd been eager to share the news.
She noted the track is available for pre-order now. The pre-order window runs for 24 hours only.
Swift built buzz for the release with a countdown clock on her official website. She also teased the single through a subtle social media change.
On Instagram, she swapped every letter "o" in her bio for a zero. Her updated bio now reads, "And, baby, that's sh0w business f0r y0u."
The same zero substitution appeared elsewhere. Apple Music's lyric display for "Life of a Showgirl" shows matching changes in the chorus.
"Patient Zero" adds to a busy year for Swift. She released "I Knew It I Knew You" earlier in 2025 for the "Toy Story 5" soundtrack.
That followed her 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl," also out in 2025. The album produced hits including "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Opalite."
The new single arrives just ahead of a major career honor. Swift will be celebrated at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards two days after the single's release.
CBS and MTV announced Monday that she'll receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors.
The award recognizes artists whose behind-the-camera work has redefined music video storytelling.
Swift also holds nine VMA nominations this year, including video of the year and artist of the year.
