Kelly Clarkson: Kelly Clarkson showed off a new look this week. The singer appeared on "Today" Monday with chin-length blond waves, a shift from the long caramel hair she wore at her talk show's Aug. 31 finale.
She styled the cut with a side part. Her outfit included a camel-colored trench coat and black semi-sheer tights.
Clarkson, 44, ended "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in August after seven seasons. She didn't discuss the haircut directly during her "Today" appearance.
She did speak about her post-show priorities. Music is back at the top of her list. So is a lighter schedule.
She has coached on "The Voice" since 2018. That show's 30th season premiered the same night as her "Today" interview.
Clarkson told co-host Carson Daly she's embracing family time.
She and her two children, River Rose, 12, and Remy Alexander, 10, relocated to New York City in 2023 when her talk show moved there.
She said this is the first time she's lived in the city without a 9-to-5 job. She now handles school drop-offs and pickups herself.
Her move to New York followed a difficult divorce from Brandon Blackstock. The couple's divorce was finalized in 2022.
Blackstock, a talent manager and Reba McEntire's former stepson, died of melanoma in August 2025 at age 48.
Clarkson and her children lost him to cancer roughly a year before this interview.
When she announced the show's end in February, Clarkson said stepping back from her daily schedule would let her prioritize her kids.
Clarkson Says Talk Show Forced Her to Pass on Music Projects
Clarkson filmed her talk show at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. She said she missed her former coworkers there and enjoyed returning for her "Today" segment.
Without the show's early hours, Clarkson said she now has more freedom. That includes staying up late to watch her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
It also means saying yes to more music opportunities. She said the talk show previously forced her to turn down several music projects.
She's now returning to the festival circuit, including Stagecoach.
Organizers of the Southern California country festival announced earlier this month that Clarkson will open for Garth Brooks on April 25, 2027.
Fellow "The Voice" coach Riley Green is set to headline earlier that weekend.
