Moussa Cisse: Moussa Cisse is heading toward a move to the New York Knicks. The restricted free agent has agreed to a two-year offer sheet with New York.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported the news Saturday, citing sources familiar with the deal.
The Dallas Mavericks now have 48 hours to match the offer. If they decline, Cisse will officially join the Knicks.
The contract structure favors some team flexibility. Cisse's salary is half-guaranteed in year one. The second season, 2027-28, is fully non-guaranteed.
Cisse's path to restricted free agency started last summer. He went undrafted out of Memphis. Dallas signed him to a two-way contract before the season began.
The Mavericks later extended a qualifying offer this offseason. That move made him a restricted free agent.
On the court, Cisse brings size and rim protection. The 6-foot-11 center turns 24 in September.
Last season, he averaged 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. He did so in just under 14 minutes of playing time.
For the Knicks, the timing lines up with a roster need. New York lost center Mitchell Robinson in free agency.
The reigning NBA champions are now looking to rebuild their frontcourt depth. Cisse could be part of that solution.
