Charles Dance: Fresh casting discussions are underway for the upcoming sequel The Batman Part II. Charles Dance is in negotiations to join the project in a supporting role.

Industry sources indicate he is being considered to play the father of Harvey Dent.


The film is already drawing attention for its high-profile cast. Robert Pattinson is set to return as Batman. 


Sebastian Stan is reportedly lined up to portray Harvey Dent. Scarlett Johansson is expected to take on the role of Dent’s wife.


The sequel follows the success of The Batman, which performed strongly at the box office and with critics.


Officials at DC Studios have declined to comment on the reported casting developments.


Development is accelerating on The Batman Part II, with key cast and production details taking shape. Robert Pattinson is confirmed to return as Gotham’s vigilante. 


Sebastian Stan will take on the role of Harvey Dent. Scarlett Johansson is set to play Dent’s wife. Filmmaker Matt Reeves is back at the helm.


He co-developed the script alongside Mattson Tomlin. The production is scheduled to begin next month.


Veteran actor Charles Dance, currently in talks for a role, is best known to global audiences for his portrayal of Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones.


His extensive film credits include Alien 3, The Imitation Game, and Gosford Park. He has also appeared in The First Omen and The Day of the Jackal.


In his most recent project, Dance portrayed Dr. Frankenstein’s father in Frankenstein, which earned Academy Award recognition.


The Batman emerged as a major box office success, generating roughly $772 million worldwide.


Colin Farrell portrayed the Penguin, a role that later expanded into a standalone series on Max. The character is set to return in the upcoming sequel.


The film featured a strong supporting cast. Zoë Kravitz appeared as Catwoman. Jeffrey Wright took on the role of Jim Gordon. Paul Dano played the Riddler. 


Andy Serkis portrayed Alfred. Barry Keoghan made an appearance as an Arkham Asylum inmate.


Warner Bros. first confirmed plans for a sequel during CinemaCon in April 2022.


In early 2023, James Gunn and Peter Safran, who lead DC Studios, announced an initial release target of October 2025. The timeline has since shifted multiple times. 


The film was first moved to October 2, 2026. It has now been rescheduled for release on October 1, 2027.
