The Batman Part II: A Halloween post by Heidi Klum may have given away more than planned.
Fans now think it hints at the villains in The Batman Part II.
Klum dressed as a giant, gruesome severed hand this year. The costume even included replicas of her wedding rings.
A behind-the-scenes post showed how the look was made. Some of the objects in the background seem tied to Batman villains.
Sharp-eyed social media users noticed the items in what is reportedly the workspace of makeup artist Mike Marino.
Marino created Klum's costume. He also worked on the 2022 film The Batman. He contributed to the HBO spinoff The Penguin as well.
The first clue points to Two-Face. Fans said a facial cast with a disfigured lip looked like actor Brian Tyree Henry, and some connected it to Two-Face.
Two-Face was once Gotham City district attorney Harvey Dent. An attack left half of his face disfigured.
Another item was a box labeled Zsasz. Victor Zsasz is a serial killer from the comics. He carves tally marks into his skin for every person he kills.
The label has renewed talk about Sebastian Stan's role. In June, entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider reported that Stan would play Zsasz.
He also reported that Henry would play Dent and Two-Face. Neither claim has been officially confirmed.
A third box was labeled Owl 3. Fans speculated that the label could refer to the Court of Owls.
In DC Comics, the Court of Owls is a secret society. It quietly influences Gotham City.
Marino has confirmed he is working on the sequel. He shared the news in an October interview with W magazine.
He called the project a dream scenario. He said he is a comic book nerd at heart. He also teased some very cool makeup work in the film.
Still, none of these clues has been confirmed as part of the movie. Nothing suggests the items were shown on purpose. A request for comment has been sent to Marino.
Director Matt Reeves confirmed in May that Henry and Stan are in the sequel. He did not say which characters they play. Variety reported that Stan is set to play Harvey Dent.
Stan also addressed the film on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. The episode aired in October.
He said the movie is going to be great. He said it feels very different from his past work. He added that he loves that and is excited.
The Batman Part II is set to reach theaters on Feb. 18, 2028. It was first scheduled for October 2025. The Hollywood strikes pushed it back.
Production was recently paused. Reeves stepped away for personal reasons.
Steven Soderbergh, the director of Ocean's Eleven, was hired to help finish filming. The first film opened in March 2022.
