Celtic Rangers: Martin O'Neill praised his side after a crucial victory but acknowledged that the title race remains far from over.

    
Martin O'Neill reacts after a vital Celtic Rangers win as the team prepares for the final Scottish title race push.

The Celtic F.C. interim manager said the result was significant in the club’s pursuit of retaining the Scottish Premiership title.


“It was a big win for us,” O’Neill told BBC Scotland. “I thought we were terrific in the second half, coming from behind against big rivals.”


Despite the victory, O’Neill admitted Celtic still face a difficult challenge in the title race. 


He said the team still has “two mountains to climb” as they continue their push to secure another league championship.


Martin O'Neill praised his squad following the comeback victory and highlighted the performances of several key players.


The Celtic F.C. interim manager said he was thrilled with the team’s display and singled out the captain for special recognition.


“I couldn’t be more delighted with the team and certain individuals were magnificent,” O’Neill said. 


“The captain was magnificent and Daizen Maeda has pulled it through again.”


O’Neill also acknowledged the challenge posed by Rangers F.C. during the contest.


He said Rangers performed well but praised Celtic’s determination to recover and secure the result.


“Rangers came to play and did well, but it was the manner we fought back,” he added.


Looking ahead to the title race, O’Neill warned that the club faces another demanding fixture in midweek. 


He described Motherwell F.C. as a strong footballing side and expects a difficult challenge in the upcoming match.


Martin O'Neill reflected on his team’s resurgence following a difficult period earlier in the season.


The Celtic F.C. interim manager said the squad responded strongly after doubts emerged following the match against Dundee United F.C..


“But the game at Dundee United when we questioned ourselves, the team have come roaring back,” O’Neill said. “The whole effort from the team has been terrific.”


O’Neill admitted the title challenge could still end in disappointment but praised the commitment shown by his players throughout the campaign.


“We might fall short at the end of it all, who knows?” he added. “But it’s been a fabulous effort.”


He also credited the home supporters for helping drive the team forward during key moments of the season. 


O’Neill said the passionate atmosphere created by the crowd had played a major role in lifting the players on several occasions.
