Levi Onwuzurike: Early camp setback for the Lions. Defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike required ACL surgery. He’ll miss all of 2025, per head coach Dan Campbell on Sunday.

In 2024, the 27-year-old defensive lineman played 16 games. He stacked up 13 QB hits and 28 tackles. Add 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss.


On Thursday, Detroit moved Levi Onwuzurike to the reserve/PUP list. That’s a tough loss for this Lions defense. They’re counting on Aidan Hutchinson’s return after his broken fibula and tibia last October.

Veteran Alim McNeill is still on the active/PUP as he rehabs a torn ACL. Taylor Decker’s return is expected after the Hall of Fame Game on July 31, Campbell said.


The offensive tackle is out with a shoulder injury. Detroit will turn to Tyleik Williams and Ahmed Hassanein for depth. Brodric Martin and D.J. Reader are also part of the plan.
