Tour de France Stage 14: Remco Evenepoel’s Tour de France run ended in the Pyrenees on Saturday. He withdrew partway through Stage 14 from Pau to Luchon-Superbagnères.
The Belgian star, 25, began the day third overall. He looked in trouble early as the bunch hit another tough mountain test.
The Olympic champion, wearing the white jersey for the best young rider, was dropped on the Tourmalet climb. It was the first of four major climbs of the day.

The stage ended with a tough final ascent to the Superbagnères ski resort. This climb stretches more than 7 miles.
He passed bottles to fans along the route.
Then, the time-trial world champion got off his bike. He hopped into his Soudal Quick-Step team car, ending his Tour right there.
Evenepoel opened the Tour with a brilliant time-trial win. The Pyrenees, however, tested him hard. During Friday’s uphill battle to Peyragudes, he suffered yet managed to stay third overall.
He trailed leader Tadej Pogačar by over seven minutes. Lidl-Trek’s Mattias Skjelmose, known for his climbing skills, crashed early and was forced to abandon.
The race is set to end on July 27 in Paris.
