Christian Norgaard: Arsenal have put forward a bid of €11 million (£9.3m) for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard. The Gunners are showing strong interest in the 31-year-old. They’re now waiting for Brentford’s response to see if a deal can move forward.
Arsenal have yet to reach an agreement with Thomas Partey. His current contract expires on June 30. As things stand, the Ghanaian midfielder is set to leave the club as a free agent next week.
If that happens, Partey will become the second central midfielder to exit Arsenal this summer. Earlier, Jorginho made a free move to Brazilian side Flamengo.
However, Arsenal are planning to strengthen the midfield. As reported by The Athletic, they are confident about signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. The Spanish international recently visited London and met with club officials.
Norgaard still has two years left on his Brentford contract. Since joining from Fiorentina in the summer of 2019, he has been an important figure for the west London club.
His move also marked a reunion with Thomas Frank, who had previously coached him at Brondby and in Denmark's youth system.

Earlier this month, Frank made a switch of his own. He crossed London to take over as head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.
Norgaard plays a central role in Brentford’s midfield. He has featured in 192 matches across all competitions. During that time, he has found the net 13 times.
In his second season, he played a key part in Brentford’s promotion to the Premier League. Since then, he has become an even more influential presence in their top-flight journey over the past four years.
