The Boys Trigger Warning: Homelander sounds different in the gaming world. Antony Starr is not behind the mic this time.
"The Boys: Trigger Warning" is a virtual reality stealth-action game. It is set in the universe of the Prime Video series.
It arrived earlier in 2026. Voice actor Jake Green plays the ruthless superhero.
Starr played Homelander across all five seasons of the TV show. The game takes a new path.
Several familiar names do return. Jensen Ackles reprises Soldier Boy. Laz Alonso comes back as Mother's Milk.
That keeps part of the show's original feel intact, according to Collider's Oct. 16 report.
The game tells an original story. It is built to fit inside the established world of "The Boys." That expands the franchise beyond television.
The launch drew limited attention. Screen Rant reported on Oct. 14 that Green's casting went unnoticed by many players.
Green is no newcomer to voice work. He has years of experience in animation and video games.
His credits include Marvel's Wolverine, "Young Jedi Adventures" and "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man," according to Collider.
He has played Homelander before. Screen Rant reported that Green voiced the character in "Mortal Kombat 1." Players responded well to his take.
Fans have shared mostly positive reactions to his latest turn.
One player said it was great to hear some of the show's cast return for their roles. The same player felt Green nailed Homelander.
Others pointed to his past work in "Mortal Kombat 1."
Another fan said Green captured the character's mannerisms very well. In that fan's view, it matters less who voices Homelander and more that the job is done well.
Not every note was perfect, though.
A third player called it a great job overall. That fan said a few lines felt rough. Still, the fan gave the impression a thumbs up.
The change applies only to the game. Starr remains the actor tied to Homelander on screen.
The TV series wrapped its five-season run in 2026. Green simply offers a different take for gamers.
More "Boys" content is on the way. "Vought Rising" is a prequel series set in the 1950s. Ackles stars as Soldier Boy.
Aya Cash plays Clara Vought, who later becomes Stormfront. Screen Rant reported that the series is set to premiere on Prime Video in 2027.
Another project is in the works. "The Boys: Mexico" still awaits full approval, according to Screen Rant.
The franchise's TV and gaming plans remain separate. "Trigger Warning" is available now as a virtual reality title.
