Jackson Chourio: The Milwaukee Brewers placed outfielder Jackson Chourio on the 10-day injured list on Thursday after doctors confirmed a fracture in his left hand.

The injury dates back to March 4 when Chourio was representing Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic.

During that game, he was struck by a pitch thrown by Clayton Beeter.

Chourio continued to play after the incident but reportedly dealt with lingering discomfort in his hand.

Team medical staff later ordered an MRI scan when the pain did not fully subside.

The imaging revealed a small hairline fracture in the third metacarpal of his left hand.

The team then decided to place him on the injured list to allow the injury to heal properly.

The move is considered precautionary, and the team is expected to monitor his recovery before determining a timeline for his return.

Chourio is viewed as an important part of the Brewers’ lineup, making his absence a notable early-season setback for the club.

The Milwaukee Brewers announced that the roster move involving Jackson Chourio was made retroactive to Wednesday.

According to the team’s initial timeline, Chourio is expected to be sidelined for roughly two to four weeks before he can return to the lineup.

The recovery period will depend on how quickly the fracture in his hand heals and how soon he can resume baseball activities.

Milwaukee enters the season with high expectations after finishing last year with the best record in Major League Baseball.

The organization is looking to build on that performance and make another push toward the postseason.

Chourio’s injury is not expected to keep him out long term, but the team is expected to take a cautious approach before activating him for game action.

Outfielder Jackson Chourio put together an impressive season last year for the Milwaukee Brewers.

He posted a .270 batting average while hitting 21 home runs and driving in 78 runs. He also led the team in doubles with 35 and recorded four triples during the season.

Chourio is now entering the third year of his eight-year, $82 million contract with Milwaukee.

The long-term deal reflects the organization’s commitment to him as a key part of the franchise’s future.

To fill the open roster spot, the Brewers promoted outfielder Blake Perkins from Triple-A Nashville.

The move adds outfield depth while the team waits for Chourio to recover and return to the lineup.
