John Rocker: John Rocker, a former MLB pitcher, is in the media coverage again, this time for his insulting comments directed at NFL star Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
A planned celebrity boxing match between Rocker and Patrick Mahomes Sr. was unexpectedly canceled, which started the issue.
Rocker, who was set to face the elder Mahomes as part of the Rough N' Rowdy promotion from Barstool Sports, shared his frustration on social media site X (previously Twitter).
He wrote, "I was supposed to fight Pat Mahomes Sr. today."
Instead, his son and his loser wife decided it would be a bad look for the family name, So he backed off, clearly not ready to deal with the pressure.
He continued after that. Rocker didn’t hold back, calling them a group of overly progressive individuals, clearly upset by their stance.
Fans were split on the issue after his comments triggered a flurry of online reactions.
In February 2024, during Super Bowl week in New Orleans, Rocker and Patrick Sr. first clashed.
After the Kansas City Chiefs' defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles, the two were seen arguing.
However, Patrick Sr. then claimed that the altercation, which was documented in court paperwork that TMZ was able to get, was a staged event meant to excitement their boxing match in April 2025.
Later, Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, confirmed that the fight was off.
He said on the "Unnamed Show" that Brittany and Mahomes' agent became involved.
"They said that this fight would never take place. They'll cut him off if he does," Portnoy said.
The family's position becomes even more difficult by the fact that Patrick Mahomes Sr. has previously faced legal issues.
Days before the Chiefs defeated the 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas, he was jailed for a third DWI.
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes decided to dedicate to quality time with their family instead of letting the discussion escalate online.
The couple recently posted sweet pictures from their Florida family vacation to Disney World. Blake Bell, a teammate of the Chiefs, and his family joined them.

The Mahomes children had a great day exploring Animal Kingdom and interacting with Disney characters.
Using heart emojis Mahomes reshared the moment on Instagram after Brittany even took her daughter Sterling kayaking.
Mahomes continues to express how much Brittany means to him despite of the drama.
He said to have a wonderful marriage in an interview with People. She is really helpful to me. I may therefore concentrate on being my best self.
But John Rocker isn't giving up the spotlight. It's still unclear if the fight will be rescheduled.
But as of right now, his comments have sparked contentious discussions on the canceled match as well as his personal attacks on the Mahomes family.
One thing is clear when the dust settles: John Rocker has sparked controversy once more, and the internet can't to stop talking about it.
