The Batman: Part II: Director Matt Reeves marked Batman Day with a fresh look at "The Batman: Part II."
He posted a behind-the-scenes photo on X. The image shows the silhouette of the Caped Crusader.
Batman Day honors the character created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane.
Fans often get surprises from DC and Batman-linked filmmakers on the occasion.
Reeves has done this before. He celebrated Batman Day five years ago with a tease of his first Batman film.
The long-delayed sequel is currently in production. Cameras began rolling in the UK earlier this summer.
Reeves has since shared several spoiler-free posts on social media.
The new photo is a simple set image. It still captures the character's signature presence.
The setting is hard to pin down. The sequel takes place in winter, so the backdrop could be a snowy landscape.
It could also be some kind of maze. Robert Pattinson stars as the brooding Dark Knight.
Reeves began teasing the project in May. He shared footage from a Batmobile test. He later posted a series of GIFs confirming the cast.
He also hinted at Scarlett Johansson's role. Her part remains a mystery. So does the character played by Sebastian Stan.
Unofficial leaks have also surfaced in recent months. Recent set photos showed the Batmobile in rough shape.
A set video suggested Bruce Wayne could be in serious trouble. Other photos appeared to point to a cameo from a Gotham City vigilante from the comics.
None of these details has been confirmed. This report does not name the character to avoid spoilers.
Reeves directed 2022's "The Batman," which earned critical acclaim.
His other credits include "Let Me In" and "War for the Planet of the Apes." Much about the sequel is still under wraps.
"The Batman: Part II" is set to open in theaters Feb. 18, 2028.
