Nico Iamaleava injury update: UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava will miss Saturday’s game against No. 1 Ohio State after being diagnosed with a concussion.

UCLA QB Nico Iamaleava confirms his concussion in this Nico Iamaleava injury update, sidelining him for the critical game versus Ohio State.

The decision was confirmed by sources familiar with the situation. Iamaleava suffered the injury during last week’s defeat to Nebraska.

He began experiencing concussion symptoms following the game, according to On3, which first reported that he would be sidelined.

With Nico Iamaleava unavailable, redshirt sophomore Luke Duncan is set to start at quarterback for UCLA against No. 1 Ohio State. Duncan enters the game without any college passing attempts as he faces the top-ranked Buckeyes.

Iamaleava, who joined the Bruins after transferring from Tennessee, has thrown for 1,659 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his debut season.

Duncan helped UCLA secure three straight wins in October, including a notable triumph over then-No. 7 Penn State. The Bruins, now 3-6, have lost their last two games and must win the remainder of their schedule to qualify for a bowl game.
