Google Docs Down Right Now: On November 12, Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets went down for many users. Around 3,000 people reported issues like connection errors and being unable to open their files.

Just after noon EST on Wednesday, November 12, users began reporting issues with Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets on Downdetector.
Within an hour, more than 2,800 people said Google Drive wasn’t working properly. Many others also experienced problems with Google Search, Docs, and Sheets.
Google Confirms Users Facing Access Problems
Google admitted it’s aware of the issue and is investigating access problems affecting Drive, Docs, and Sheets. The company’s Workspace status page noted that no temporary fix is available yet for users dealing with the outage.
How the Outage Is Affecting Users
By 1 p.m. ET, almost 3,000 users had reported problems, according to Downdetector. Around half said they were dealing with server connection errors, while others couldn’t access their personal files at all.
Frustrated users flooded social media and online forums with complaints:
“I’ve reloaded Google Docs and Drive over and over, but nothing’s working.” “Docs and Sheets are still down. I can’t open or download any of my files.” “It worked for a few minutes, then crashed again.”
“It keeps showing ‘Error making file offline.’ Works fine on my laptop but not my phone.” “Why is it down? I’m trying to finish my homework — I’ve got 15 papers due! Please fix this!”

“We’re aware of ongoing problems with Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets that started around 9:00 a.m. PST on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Our engineers are working to identify and fix the issue as quickly as possible.

Google Continues to Monitor the Situation
At present, Google has not announced any fix or shared an expected timeline for when the problem will be resolved.
