The fight night will stream live on Netflix. Much of the original lineup planned for Paul’s earlier bout with Gervonta Davis is still in place.

Alycia Baumgardner will remain in the co-main event, defending her unified super featherweight championship against Leila Beaudoin.

There is one significant change to the card. Anderson Silva will no longer open the main card against former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman.

Instead, Silva will now face former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in a six-round cruiserweight showdown.

Silva and Woodley have both been beaten by Jake Paul before. Silva went the distance with Paul in 2022 but lost by a close unanimous decision.

Woodley faced Paul twice, first losing by split decision in August 2021 and then suffering a knockout defeat in their rematch in December.

Silva later shared his thoughts in a statement. He said he believes changes happen for a reason.

He also explained that he’s focused on performing well and showing full respect to both his opponent and the sport of boxing.

Chris Weidman had to withdraw from his scheduled fight with Silva after suffering an injury. Woodley once ruled the UFC welterweight division from 2016 to 2019.

Now, he’s chasing his first victory in the boxing ring, and he’ll try to earn it against one of the biggest champions MMA has ever seen.

Speaking ahead of the fight, Woodley shared his mindset. He said that moments like this are what create legends.

The prelim lineup remains the same. Cherneka “Sugar Neekz” Johnson will defend her undisputed bantamweight crown against Amanda Galle.

Yokasta Valle will put her WBC strawweight belt at stake against Yadira Bustillos. Avious Griffin will face Justin Cardona in a welterweight clash.

In addition, two-time Brazilian Olympian Keno Marley will make his professional debut in a four-round cruiserweight fight against Diarra Davis.

The planned WBA super lightweight title fight between champion Gary Antuanne Russell and Andy Hiraoka has been taken off the undercard.

Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, reacted to the updated card in a statement.

He said the Silva vs. Woodley matchup is a major addition and takes the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua event to another level.

According to Bidarian, this card is shaping up to be one of the most exciting combat sports events of the decade.

He described it as a true modern-day gladiator showcase. He added that the main event has already captured global attention.

Bidarian also noted that bringing two MMA legends back onto a worldwide stage, live on Netflix, shows just how massive this event has become.

Bidarian also emphasized the significance of Alycia Baumgardner’s co-main event.

He said her 12-round, three-minute unified title defense marks an important milestone and places her alongside Amanda Serrano in the fight for equality in boxing.

He added that the rest of the lineup is stacked with championship talent, including Cherneka Johnson, Yokasta Valle, and several others.

With so many high-level matchups on one card, he said December 19 has the potential to become one of the most unforgettable nights the sport has ever seen.
