GTA 6 News: Rockstar Games has cleared the air once more. Rumors of a delay had been building for weeks, but the studio has confirmed that GTA 6 will launch on May 26, 2026.
In a fresh press release, Rockstar restated the release date and shut down talk of another postponement. The announcement comes after weeks of speculation that Rockstar might delay the game again.
Earlier in the month, insider Millie A hinted that the timeline could be extended. Her remarks stirred fresh concern among fans, who were already aware of the shift from the originally rumored 2025 launch.

Rockstar has now made it clear that the release date shown in the second official trailer remains firm. Rockstar acknowledged the massive excitement surrounding GTA 6 in its latest update.
The company thanked players for waiting so long. It admitted that more development time is required to hit the standard that fans expect. Even so, Rockstar confirmed that the May 2026 launch date will not change.

“Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to arrive on May 26, 2026. We know this comes later than many anticipated, and we’re grateful for your patience and support.
Our mission has always been to deliver an experience that goes beyond expectations, and GTA VI will be no exception. More updates are on the way soon.”
Speculation about delays has grabbed plenty of attention, but fans are just as focused on what the game will bring. GTA 6 introduces two main characters, Jason and Lucia, whose story takes cues from the legendary outlaw pair Bonnie and Clyde.
The action unfolds in Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida. At the center of it all is Vice City, serving as the core of the map.

- Expanded map: GTA 6 promises a world bigger and richer than ever before. Players will discover new regions, with whispers of Liberty City making a return.

- Extended campaign: The story is expected to run close to 75 hours. That’s more than double the length of GTA 5’s campaign.
- Immersive setting: The adventure unfolds in Leonida, a state filled with variety, with Vice City standing at the heart of the map.
With the date locked in, fans can now look forward to one of the biggest releases of the coming year. GTA 6 is finally nearing its long-awaited arrival.
