Jam Miller Injury: Alabama’s top returning rusher, Jam Miller, suffered an upper-body injury during Saturday’s scrimmage. Sources told ESPN he will likely miss the Aug. 30 season opener against Florida State.


On Sunday, head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed that Miller was hurt and underwent a medical procedure after the scrimmage at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer said Jam Miller injured his upper body in Saturday’s scrimmage and had a procedure that evening.


He added that Miller is expected to recover fully, though no return date has been set.

Miller, a senior from Tyler, Texas, was Alabama’s top tailback last season with 668 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 145 carries.


Richard Young, a sophomore who posted 146 yards and two touchdowns last season, is expected to see plenty of work.


Daniel Hill, another sophomore, added 61 yards and a score in 2024 and should be part of the rotation as well.


Louisiana transfer Dre Washington is also in line for carries when Alabama opens against Florida State at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
