Matt Duchene Contract: The Dallas Stars have officially brought back forward Matt Duchene. He has signed a new four-year contract worth $18 million.
The announcement came on Thursday from general manager Jim Nill. Duchene’s deal will carry a $4.5 million cap hit each year. The contract runs through the 2028-29 NHL season.
“We’re excited to have Matt staying with us,” said GM Jim Nill in a statement.
“He led our team in scoring last season and played a key role in strengthening our forward group.
Off the ice, his leadership and presence in the community have been just as valuable. From day one, Matt has been a perfect fit for our team.

In his second season with Dallas, Duchene delivered strong results. He recorded 82 points in 82 games — averaging exactly one point per game. However, his playoff production was limited.

He managed just one goal and five assists over 16 postseason games. The Stars made it to the Western Conference Final but fell short against the Edmonton Oilers.
Matt Duchene is 34 years old and gearing up for his 17th NHL season. He began his career in 2009 and has played for several teams over the years.
His journey has included stops in Colorado, Ottawa, Columbus, and Nashville. Now, he continues his path with the Dallas Stars.
