Scott Foster Injury: Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals took an unusual turn early on. Veteran referee Scott Foster suffered a bloody nose, causing a short delay.
The incident happened during a jump ball. Lu Dort of the Thunder faced off against Julius Randle of the Timberwolves.
As the ball went up, Randle timed it right and got the tip. Dort missed and, in the process, accidentally struck Foster in the face.
The hit was unintentional but left Foster bleeding. Medical staff quickly attended to him. After a brief pause, the game continued as planned.
Dort’s foot also looked like it hit Foster in the stomach. The game had to be stopped for a few minutes.
Medical staff came in right away to help. Foster took a moment but eventually got back up. He shook it off and continued officiating like a pro.
Referees often face bumps and bruises on the court. It’s part of the job when you’re dealing with powerful athletes flying around at full speed.
But what made this moment stand out wasn’t just the injury. It was who happened to be watching from the stands that made things even more interesting.
Scott Foster and Chris Paul don't have the friendliest history. I don’t think one can avoid their playoff ties.

Paul has only won 3 of 20 postseason games where Foster officiated. Paul even has previously voiced some of his problems with Foster.
This rivalry seems to be followed by the fans for years now.
So when Foster went down in the game, the jokes started flying on the internet. “You know Chris Paul is smiling somewhere,” said some the fans.
But even more incredible, is that Paul was actually at the arena. Just for another reason.
The reason was to partake in the MVP celebration of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
