Bournemouth had a very positive view of their centre-back. He joined the club from Juventus last summer and has since become an integral part of their success.

Andoni Iraola’s squad is in its best season for the club, while also breaking their records for most points in the Premier League season. The club thanked him for the importance of his contribution.

The full AFC Bournemouth team cannot wait to get Dean involved for their last two Premier League matches.

They definitely want to make the most of having him on board as the season comes to an end. Following that, Dean will move on in his career.

Real Madrid has announced that he will officially be registered as a Real Madrid player on June 1. This timing will suit Dean as he gets set for the Club World Cup.

Dean Huijsen has been transferred from AFC Bournemouth to Real Madrid. He will join Madrid for five seasons beginning June 1, 2025 and lasting until June 30, 2030.

The club made this announcement through an official release. Dean is a mere 20 years old and already is a Spanish international.

He has played in Italy's Serie A with both Juventus and Roma. He also performed well in the Premier League with Bournemouth.

Dean Huijsen is a candidate for the Premier League Young Player of the Year award for 2024-2025.

He made his debut for Spain in March. Dean is also Real Madrid's first summer signing.

The Spanish club has dealt with some defensive injuries in the 2024-25 season. They are hoping Huijsen can help sharpen the defence.

Real Madrid have had a challenging time this season with injuries in defense. Key center-backs Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba have all been injured for prolonged periods.

Full-backs Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, and Lucas Vázquez spent time on the injury list too.

On Saturday, coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke about the situation with a press conference.

Ancelotti celebrated Dean Huijsen and called him a talented young defender, with huge potential.

He remarked that Huijsen's signing was a clever and exciting move for the team. Ancelotti also said that Real Madrid always aspire to be at the top and that Huijsen's signing proves this.

He also mentioned how there was a defender not signed last season. At that time, Alaba was coming back, Militão healthy, and Carvajal was fine. But things evolved during the year and injuries hit.

Real Madrid is looking to strengthen their defense ahead of the Club World Cup, by pursuing Trent Alexander-Arnold and Álvaro Carreras as their new signings.

The club will push through the deals before the tournament begins on June 14.

There will also be a possible shift on the bench, as Xabi Alonso will likely be the new manager, taking over for Carlo Ancelotti prior to the start of the Club World Cup.

In March, ESPN reported that Dean Huijsen was a top target for Real Madrid. He really caught their eye during a solid loan stint at Roma before making his way to England.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time Madrid had shown interest in him. A few years back, when Huijsen was developing at Malaga, the club almost brought him on board.

However, his family opted for a different route, allowing him to continue his growth in Italy.

Originally from Amsterdam, Huijsen has made 29 appearances in the Premier League this season, contributing three goals—quite an impressive feat for a defender.

Big names like Chelsea and Arsenal were also in the mix, but Madrid acted fast and secured the deal.

Now, Huijsen, who has long looked up to Sergio Ramos, will don the legendary white jersey of Real Madrid.
