Who Won in UFC Last Night: At UFC 311, Islam Makhachev defeated Renato Moicano by first-round submission to maintain his UFC lightweight title.

The Intuit Dome is where the altercation happened. Moicano (20-6-1) delivered a right-hand blow that momentarily felled Makhachev (27-1). But Makhachev bounced back quickly. 


Taking over, he placed Moicano on the ground. Makhachev locked Moicano in a D'Arce choke despite his attempts to escape.


Quickly, he tightened his hold. Moicano had no way out; he tapped out at 4:05 of the first round.


Moicano was given the chance with only a day's notice. Originally, Beneil Dariush was to be his opponent.


Due to an injury, Arman Tsarukyan had to withdraw. In 2022, Moicano had also faced Rafael dos Anjos with four days' notice.

Makhachev once again demonstrated why he is regarded as the greatest fighter in terms of strength.


"I am more than words," Makhachev declared. "If my opponent gives me small shots, I will close the night."


He displayed his outstanding skills in a dominant performance.


Even though Makhachev won, it wasn't a flawless night for Team Khabib. Merab Dvalishvili defeated Umar Nurmagomedov in his title bout.


But next weekend, another gym fighter, Usman Nurmagomedov, will defend his Bellator lightweight belt.

With 16 consecutive victories, Anderson Silva is the record holder. With 819 days left in his lightweight reign, Makhachev is getting closer to Khabib Nurmagomedov's 1,077 days.


Makhachev has hinted at a move to welterweight, but appears intent on remaining in the lightweight division for the time being.

Makhachev said, "I like this belt. I don't work there—come to the cage if you want this belt.
