Paul Skenes: Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes publicly honored his girlfriend, Livvy Dunne, on her 24th birthday.
The 24-year-old posted a slideshow on Instagram on Thursday, Oct. 1. Such posts are rare for Skenes.
His caption was brief. It read, "Happy birthday @livvydunne ❤️."
What the photos show
The first image shows the couple holding each other close at a formal event.
Skenes wore a white button-up shirt, dark trousers and white sneakers. Dunne wore a red two-piece skirt set with flip-flops.
The second photo shows Dunne in a dark red velvet dress. Her hands rest on Skenes' shoulders.
He wore a white shirt and a black bow tie. The two smile at each other.
The third was taken on the red carpet at the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. Skenes wore a blue suit and black sunglasses.
Dunne wore a black and blue gown that complemented his look.
The last image is a quiet moment at home. Dunne lies on her bed with her eyes closed.
She rests her head against the couple's golden retriever, Roux.
A relationship that began at LSU
The couple went public in August 2023. They met at Louisiana State University as student-athletes.
Skenes played baseball, and Dunne competed in gymnastics. They have backed each other's careers ever since.
Dunne retired from gymnastics in 2025. She is now moving into acting. Her debut will come in the upcoming "Baywatch" reboot.
Skenes addressed the project on July 14. He spoke with MLB Network at the 2026 MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show in Philadelphia.
He said he had not seen it yet. "I haven't seen it yet, but I'm excited to watch. It's going to be cool," he said. He added, "She's loving it, so that's all that matters."
How they handle distance
Dunne discussed their relationship with PEOPLE in February. Their careers sometimes keep them apart.
She said the couple has no set rules. "I just think being super present with one another while you're together, while you have that time together, is super important," she said.
Dunne said Skenes makes time for her events. She said she does the same for his games. She tries to attend every start she can.
