Taylor Swift Wedding: While the spotlight stays fixed on Madison Square Garden, Blake Lively was hundreds of miles away this weekend.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly getting married in New York City this weekend. But Lively was nowhere near the venue.
TMZ published photos on Thursday, July 2, showing a different scene entirely.
The images captured Lively, 38, and husband Ryan Reynolds, 49, in Lake Placid, New York.
The upstate location sits nearly 300 miles from Madison Square Garden.
Lively and Reynolds were there to support their 6-year-old daughter, Betty, at a horse show. The event took place at a local farm.
The couple also shares three other children: daughters James, 11, and Inez, 9, and son Olin, 3.
Other celebrities took a very different path this week. Selena Gomez and Lena Dunham were both spotted in New York City.
Reports indicate Swift and Kelce's rehearsal dinner got underway around the same time.
Lively's absence from the celebrations wasn't a last-minute development.
Multiple sources told Us Weekly last month that she never received a wedding invitation.
That's despite her once-close friendship with Swift. An insider told Us Weekly in June that Lively understood the decision.
The source said she recognized an invitation would likely draw heavy media attention.
The insider also noted the two women's friendship isn't what it used to be.
Still, according to the source, Lively holds no resentment and would have liked to be there for the couple.
Us Weekly reached out to representatives for both Lively and Swift for comment.
A Friendship Fractured by Legal Drama
The rift between Swift and Lively traces back to Lively's legal fight with her It Ends With Us director and co-star, Justin Baldoni.
Swift became entangled in the case after private text messages between her and Lively surfaced publicly. Her name also appeared in court filings.
Baldoni claimed he was blindsided during a meeting at Lively and Reynolds' New York City penthouse, alleging Swift was present.
Text exchanges later revealed Lively had jokingly referred to herself as Khaleesi, a Game of Thrones character, and described Swift as one of her "dragons."
Lively, now 38, and Baldoni ultimately settled the case outside of court last month. The legal battle had dragged on for 18 months.
A Once-Tight Bond
Before the falling-out, Lively and Swift were famously close. Swift even served as godmother to three of Lively's four children.
The friendship extended to Swift's relationship with Kelce, too.
After the couple began dating in the summer of 2023, they spent time socially with Lively and Reynolds.
One notable outing included a double date at The Corner Store in New York City in October 2024.
Swift and Kelce are expected to marry at Madison Square Garden over the July 4 holiday weekend. Sources say the celebrations will span multiple days.
