Bart Scott: Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Bart Scott is once again drawing backlash from Cincinnati Bengals fans, this time over past ESPN comments targeting quarterback Joe Burrow and former linebacker Logan Wilson.

The remarks resurfaced after ESPN laid off several longtime employees on July 21. Scott was among those let go.

Ryan Clark, Karl Ravech, David Lloyd, Cam Newton and Andreas Hale were also part of the cuts.

Scott's history with the Bengals dates back to 2021. On ESPN's "Get Up," he suggested the Ravens would come after Burrow following a Week 17 win over Baltimore.

Burrow torched the Ravens defense that day, throwing for a career-best 525 yards.

His performance included a 52-yard completion to running back Joe Mixon with under two minutes left in the game.

Scott didn't hold back at the time. He dismissed Burrow's win as beating a lesser opponent, referencing the fictional replacement quarterback Shane Falco.

He warned that Cincinnati was "poking the bear" by beating Baltimore.

According to Scott, that win would cost Burrow a "lifetime" of punishment from the Ravens.

Two years later, Scott took aim at Wilson. He accused the Bengals linebacker of using a "dirty style of tackling" during a Week 11 matchup in Baltimore.

The criticism centered on tackles Wilson made on Ravens tight end Mark Andrews and quarterback Lamar Jackson in the first quarter.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor pushed back hard on the accusation. He called the criticism of Wilson's play "completely reckless."

Scott spent the majority of his 11-year NFL career with Baltimore, playing for the Ravens from 2002 to 2008.
