Apple M5 Chip: Apple introduced a fresh lineup on Wednesday, including the new MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Vision Pro. All three come equipped with the powerful M5 chip, offering noticeably faster performance than before.

The powerful Apple M5 chip provides 4x faster AI performance in the new Apple MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Vision Pro devices.

The new MacBook Pro is priced from $1,599. The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $999. Meanwhile, the latest Vision Pro, featuring a Dual Knit Band, begins at $3,499.

Apple’s latest devices are now open for preorder in most countries and will hit stores on October 22. These new launches expand the company’s fall product lineup.

Last month, Apple rolled out the iPhone 17 and the Apple Watch Series 11. The December quarter is usually Apple’s busiest, fueled by holiday and Christmas shopping.

That’s why the tech giant often refreshes its most popular products in the fall. This year’s quarter will also include the first full cycle of iPhone 17 sales.

Apple’s newest devices are powered by the advanced M5 chip, which the company says offers up to four times more peak computing power than the M4.

In a statement, Johny Srouji, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Technologies, said the M5 provides a significant boost for AI performance.

Apple’s Wednesday announcement caught the eye of Wall Street analysts, eager to see if the company would pass on costs from President Donald Trump’s threatened tariffs, especially on semiconductors and goods from China.

The new M5 models start at the same price as their predecessors. While iPads and MacBooks don’t match the iPhone in revenue, they remain key contributors to Apple’s overall business.

In the June quarter, Apple recorded $6.58 billion in iPad sales, down 8% from last year. The company said the drop reflects the strong sales boost from last year’s new iPad Pro release.

Mac sales fared better, reaching $8.05 billion, up 15% year over year. Earlier this year, Apple launched a refreshed version of its best-selling laptop, the MacBook Air.

Apple does not provide separate sales figures for the Vision Pro headset. Its revenue is reported together with Apple Watch and AirPods under the “wearables and other products” category.

Analysts estimate that Vision Pro sales contribute very little. Even when combined with MacBook and iPad sales, these products generate far less revenue than the iPhone, which accounted for over 47% of Apple’s total in the June quarter, just under $45 billion.

Wall Street experts usually pay most attention to iPhone sales, rather than Apple’s smaller product lines.
