Jabrill Peppers Contract: The Pittsburgh Steelers have locked in another key addition for 2025. Veteran safety Jabrill Peppers is joining the roster after reaching a deal with the team.

Peppers, once a first-round selection by the Cleveland Browns, was first reported by NFL Media.

Jabrill Peppers' contract with the Steelers as a veteran safety joins Pittsburgh’s revamped secondary for the 2025 NFL season.

At 29, Jabrill Peppers was a surprising roster cut by the Patriots this summer after failing to secure a spot on their 53-man squad.

In Pittsburgh, the Steelers had just rebuilt their secondary, but trouble struck in Week 1. Strong safety DeShon Elliott suffered a knee injury during the team’s win over the Jets.

The Patriots moved on from Peppers only a year after giving him a three-year, $24 million extension.

His final season in New England was cut short, with injuries and a suspension holding him to six appearances.

Peppers entered the league as the 25th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons with the Browns before being traded to the Giants in the 2019 offseason.

His best years came early in New York. In 2019, he forced a career-high three fumbles. In 2020, he posted personal bests with 91 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Before turning pro, Peppers was a standout at Michigan and a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.

Peppers’ final year with the Giants was derailed by injuries, leading him to sign a one-year contract with the Patriots in 2022.

He rebounded in 2023, finishing with 78 tackles—his best total since 2020—and a career-high two interceptions.

He now moves to Pittsburgh, joining a stacked secondary alongside seven-time Pro Bowler Jalen Ramsey, six-time Pro Bowler Darius Slay, and former second-round pick Joey Porter Jr.
