In 2017, Ferguson became the interim lightweight champion of the UFC. He defeated Kevin Lee to claim this championship.
Lee, who is currently with the GFL, has stated that he would like to face Ferguson once again. Although certain aspects are still being worked out, discussions are still going on.
Ferguson now has an eight-fight UFC losing skid. This is a run of records. Five of those eight defeats were from stoppage.
Ferguson has a solid career record in spite of this. His record in 36 professional fights is 25-11. Between 2013 and 2019, he won 12 straight bouts.
