Selma Blair: Actress Selma Blair was arrested Sunday after an alleged incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight.
The plane was traveling from Los Angeles to New York. Blair, 54, is best known for starring in "Legally Blonde."
Reports say she tried to open the aircraft door while the plane was in the air. She then allegedly punched one flight attendant.
She also allegedly bit another. Two crew members reported injuries. One of them received hospital care.
Law enforcement officers were waiting at the gate. They moved in as soon as the plane landed in New York.
Blair was taken into custody. She was then transported to a hospital for evaluation.
Her representative says a health crisis was behind the alleged behavior. "Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct.
Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition."
The Port Authority confirmed Blair's identity. A source says the FBI is now investigating.
Delta addressed the situation in a statement. "Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first."
The disruption did not affect operations. The flight landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport around 11 p.m. It arrived ahead of schedule.
This is not the first time Blair has faced a troubling moment on a plane. In 2016, she was removed from a flight on a stretcher.
She was traveling with her 4-year-old son at the time. Blair described the episode as a severe blackout.
She linked it to a glass of wine and a pill. She called the experience frightening. She also said she felt compassion for herself afterward.
The behavior, she said, was completely out of character. She pointed to her role as a mother.
