The reality TV star spent five years single. She says she used that time to heal from her past relationships.
Kardashian, 45, is now dating Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton. It is her first public romance since her relationship with comedian Pete Davidson in 2021.
She opened up about her time alone in an interview with The Times. She said she felt no pressure to date.
She also said she never felt empty. Instead, she focused on her children and on projects she cared about.
"I wasn't ready to open up," Kardashian said. She wanted to work on herself. Romance was not even on her mind.
Hamilton also came into the relationship after a long break. He split from his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger, in 2015.
The couple appear to be going strong. They have been seen together at the Super Bowl. They also took a trip to Japan.
They have attended the Coachella music and arts festival in California as well.
Kardashian has spoken about single life before. She discussed it in an episode of "The Kardashians" that aired last November.
The episode followed what she called a "hard" divorce from Kanye West.
She said people can grow comfortable being single. Over time, they get set in their ways.
Sharing a bed or a TV show with a partner becomes less appealing, she explained.
She said it is fine to close off a little and focus on what you want from life.
Still, she called herself "the biggest hopeless romantic." She said she will be ready when the right person comes along.
Davidson also spoke about their romance this week. He talked to Variety about the struggles of being thrust into the spotlight.
He said that kind of life is tough for anyone who is not fully on board.
He praised Kardashian and her family for embracing it. He said their attitude struck him as attractive and mature.
He added that she was respectful and never pushed him into anything he did not want to do.
Even so, the constant attention became overwhelming.
He described being followed everywhere, having security and always looking over his shoulder.
At the time, he was dealing with mental health struggles and drug problems.
Davidson said the two remain on good terms. He said he has "a lot of love" for her.
He also said he knew what he was getting into.
