Céline Dion: Céline Dion took a tumble during her Paris residency. She smiled, gave fans a thumbs-up and kept right on singing.
The 58-year-old singer was performing "Dans un autre monde" on Oct. 7.
The show took place at Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, just outside Paris. She lost her balance mid-song.
It was the 11th concert of her current run. The shows blend songs from her French and English catalogs.
A Slip Mid-Song
Concertgoer Gary Francq witnessed the moment. He told Storyful he was surprised and worried at first.
He said the fall did not seem to affect the rest of the show, according to TMZ.
Dion was moving across the stage and hopping on one foot when she slipped backward.
Her pants appeared to catch beneath her heel, Entertainment Weekly reported.
She landed on her bottom. She put one arm out to brace herself. She never let go of the microphone in her other hand.
Then she stood up on her own, without waiting for help.
The song comes from her 1998 album "S'il suffisait d'aimer." It was written by her longtime collaborator Jean-Jacques Goldman.
Fans Step In When She Loses Her Place
Another moment came near the end of the night. Dion briefly lost her place during the closing number, "Pour que tu m'aimes encore."
Fans were already singing along when she faltered. The crowd kept going while she paused.
"J'en oublie mes mots. Heureusement que vous êtes là, je suis désolée," she said, according to Journal des Femmes.
In English, that means: "I'm forgetting my words. Thankfully you're here, I'm sorry."
Dion covered her face for a moment. Then she returned to the performance.
RTL reported that she told fans how deeply their singing had moved her.
She also encouraged them to believe in themselves and hold on to their dreams.
Inside the Four-Act Production
Dion opened the Paris engagement on Sept. 12. She performed for a sold-out crowd of 35,000, according to her official website. It was her first full concert since 2020.
Creative director Willo Perron and Perron Studios designed the show.
It has four acts. Large structures open, close and transform on stage throughout the night.
Thibaut Grevet created the video imagery. It plays across LED screens beside the stage. Musical director Scott Price leads Dion's band.
The opening-night set began with "On ne change pas." It also featured "Because You Loved Me," "Courage" and "It's All Coming Back to Me Now."
She sang her 2026 release "Dansons" too. She added an operatic selection from "La Wally."
"I made a promise to come back and to be back on stage," Dion told the crowd that night.
More Paris Dates Ahead
Dion publicly shared her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis in December 2022. Health problems had disrupted her touring plans.
She later performed Édith Piaf's "Hymne à l'amour" from the Eiffel Tower. That was at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony on July 26, 2024.
Her autumn engagement includes 16 performances. Five dates remain: Oct. 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17.
She will return to the same arena in May 2027. Ten more concerts are planned, running from May 8 to May 29.
