Hamilton Ferrari Win: Lewis Hamilton has finally broken through for Ferrari, claiming his first Formula 1 victory with the Scuderia at the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton celebrates his historic Hamilton Ferrari win on the podium at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

It was Hamilton's 106th career Grand Prix win and his first since the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix.

The result also marked a significant milestone for the sport.

It was the first all-British podium since 1968, with Hamilton, George Russell, and Lando Norris all finishing in the top three.

Starting from second on the grid, Hamilton never trailed far behind.

His three-stop strategy comprehensively outperformed the two-stop plans of the Mercedes duo, aided by a well-timed Virtual Safety Car triggered by Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin failure.

From that point, Ferrari's afternoon played out to perfection.

Hamilton built a lead of nearly 19 seconds before the late VSC, as Mercedes' afternoon unravelled further when Kimi Antonelli's car failed on lap 63, shortly after the young Italian had muscled past Russell for second place.

Antonelli, who entered the race as the championship leader, was unable to finish.

The retirement ended his run of five consecutive Grand Prix victories and handed a significant points swing to Hamilton, Russell, and Norris.

Hamilton now sits 41 points behind Antonelli in the Drivers' Championship following the Mercedes driver's late exit.

George Russell crossed the line in second place, 19.561 seconds behind Hamilton. Lando Norris rounded out the podium in third for McLaren.

Max Verstappen finished fourth for Red Bull, with McLaren's Oscar Piastri in fifth.

The victory was also the first non-Mercedes win of the 2026 season, signaling a major shift in the championship battle.

Hamilton himself described the win as an "impossible dream" after converting Ferrari's Barcelona upgrades into a landmark breakthrough result.
