Rashod Bateman Contract: The Baltimore Ravens have locked in one of their key offensive weapons. On Thursday, the team announced a contract extension for Rashod Bateman.


This means Lamar Jackson will continue throwing to his top big-play receiver for years to come. Rashod Bateman’s new contract runs for three years. The total value of the deal is $36.75 million.

Out of that, $20 million is guaranteed. This information was shared by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, citing a source. Just a year ago, Bateman agreed to a team-friendly two-year deal worth $12.8 million.


He wasn't eligible for a fifth-year option since he began the 2023 training camp on the 'did not report' list. Since then, things have changed.

Bateman has turned into Baltimore’s most explosive wide receiver. Now, he’s locked in with the Ravens through the 2029 season.


At 25 years old, Bateman has transformed his career. Once seen as an underperforming first-round pick from 2021, he’s now the top deep threat for the NFL’s best offense in 2024.


Last season, he stood out as the only player to average more than 16 yards per catch. He also caught at least nine touchdown passes, making him a key weapon for his team.


Bateman averaged 16.8 yards per catch last season. That placed him third in the entire NFL. Only Alec Pierce of the Colts (22.3) and Jameson Williams of the Lions (17.3) had more.

In 2024, Bateman scored three touchdowns from 40 yards or more. That tied the record for the most in a single season by any Ravens player since 2000.


Bateman was selected 27th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. But his early career was far from smooth. He missed the first five games of his rookie year due to hernia surgery. In his second season, he was out for the final nine games after having foot surgery.


The start of his NFL journey was filled with setbacks. Back in March 2023, Bateman publicly responded to a comment from Ravens GM Eric DeCosta.

DeCosta had criticized the team’s struggles with drafting wide receivers. Bateman didn’t hold back and called him out on social media.


Later, Bateman said they talked things out. According to him, the two are now 'best friends. One year later, Bateman had his breakout season. He played as the No. 2 wide receiver behind Zay Flowers.


Bateman put up career-best numbers with 756 receiving yards. He also caught nine touchdowns. His strong performance played a big role in earning him the new contract extension on Thursday.
